About Dental Implants

Dental implants are an effective and long-term solution for replacing a missing tooth or teeth for a gorgeous smile. MINT dentistry is pleased to offer custom-made dental implants and restorations for our patients in Plano, TX to help them achieve a sexy smile that looks and feels like natural teeth. A dental implant is a post that is placed in your jawbone (by one of our board-certified oral surgeons) to replace the lost tooth root. This post(s) can then be attached to a crown, bridge, or dentures for a restoration that looks natural and lasts a long time. To replace a missing tooth or teeth, contact MINT dentistry in Plano, TX. During this appointment at our state-of-the-art dental facility, you will get to know more about MINT dentistry’s mission to help our patients achieve their aesthetic goals while maintaining ideal oral health.

All-On-4® Dental Implants

All-on-4® dental implants, manufactured by Nobel Biocare®, offer a comprehensive way to secure dentures for a full-arch restoration. This process works by inserting the screws (dental implants) into strategic areas on each arch. Compared to other brands of implanted dentures, All-on-4® creates a more secure fit with fewer posts. Our team of dentists recommends All-on-4® implant-supported dentures if you want a restored smile without the restrictions or hassle that come with removable dentures. Many MINT patients love the benefits of the advanced All-on-4® procedure with amazing, high-quality results. If you want to get more information on All-on-4® implant-supported dentures, we invite you to schedule an appointment at MINT dentistry.

Best Candidates for Dental Implants

MINT dentistry professionals suggest implants along with a crown, bridge, or dentures to replace a missing tooth or teeth. You may be a candidate for a dental implant or All-on-4® implants if you already have a traditional restoration but don't like its appearance or maintenance. During your consultation at our office, we will examine your jawbone and gums to determine if you are a good candidate for implant dentistry. You may not be a candidate for implants if you have a periodontal condition, are pregnant, or use tobacco products.

What to Expect

Before your dental implant appointment is scheduled, we will make sure you do not need gum or bone grafting. If you do, those procedures will be performed before your implant surgery is scheduled. When your mouth is ready for implants, we will schedule your implant placement surgery. To begin your appointment, our staff will show you to the procedure room so you can being to relax in the massaging treatment chair, where you will be given a pair of MINT sunglasses and Beats headphones. Once you are settled in, your anesthesia or sedation will be administered. Then, your board-certified oral surgeon will make an incision(s) in your gums and place the metal implant post(s) into your jaw. This process will be repeated if more than one implant is needed. The gums will then be closed around the implant, leaving the post visible above the gumline. Over the next few months, the implant(s) will begin to integrate with the bone and gum. During this time, a temporary restoration will be used to cover the post(s). When your mouth has healed, our team will attach your custom restoration to the post(s), so you can begin to enjoy your newly restore smile.

Treatment Aftercare

After oral surgery, you will probably have a bit of swelling in your gums and face along with possible bruising, discomfort, and bleeding. It's normal for the symptoms to be temporary, but if you have concerns or lasting symptoms, please contact us. We may prescribe pain medications and antibiotics plus detailed instructions, including what activities to avoid, to speed your recovery. As soon as your implant(s) has healed and your restoration has been attached, you should follow a good home oral care routine, including flossing and brushing every day. We may ask you to schedule follow-up appointments so we can monitor your progress. MINT dentistry encourages you to continue scheduling dental examinations and cleanings to maintain the health and appearance of your restorations and natural teeth for a long time.

The MINT Commitment

If you have dental insurance, some of the cost of your oral surgery and restoration may be covered. We will contact your insurance to clarify your policy and calculate your remaining bill. During your consultation with the team, we can discuss payment methods we accept, including low-interest medical financing. MINT dentistry is committed to helping our patients get sexy teeth. If you do not have insurance, ask us for more information on the MINT Discount Plan, which can help you better afford your dental care.
